The National Institutes of Health has issued the Final NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing (NOT-OD-21-013). The new policy goes into effect on January 25, 2023 and will replace the 2003 NIH Data Sharing Policy.. The policy requires NIH funded researchers to prospectively submit a plan outlining how scientific data will be managed and shared.
